“A retreat with me can turn your relationship around rapidly.”
Is your relationship heading toward the edge of a cliff?
If so, I can help you quickly apply the brakes and turn it around on a private couples counseling retreat.
On your retreat I’ll work privately with you in a highly focused way, grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, for three or four days. It will be an intensive marriage counseling retreat for just the two of you. No other couples will be involved.
Like most couples who do an marriage retreat in Colorado with me, you are likely struggling with one or more of the following:
- You’ve been impacted by a painful event, like an affair or a massive fight.
- You’re swirling in conflict and destructive patterns of relating.
- You’re avoiding each other and the distance between you keeps growing.
- Your relationship has been going steadily downhill… it’s reached the point where something has to give.
- You’re frightened because your relationship is teetering on the brink of divorce… and you don’t know how to stop it.
If you can relate to any of the above, rest assured, you’ve landed in the right place.
Read on to find out why three or four days of intensive marriage counseling might be right for you…
A couples counseling retreat with me can turn your relationship around… and do it a lot faster than weekly marriage counseling.
Once-a-week marriage counseling can work fine for many couples, but if you’re in distress it might not work quickly enough. It could take months for you to solve the problems that are sending your relationship toward the brink. That might not be fast enough to stop it from going over the edge.
You need a rapid turn-around and you need it now!
On your private marriage retreat in Colorado, we can get your relationship moving in the right direction because…
- You’ll be away from routines and distractions, so you’ll be better able to focus on each other.
- You’ll receive highly focused and personalized marriage counseling for three or four days.
- You’ll rapidly develop a sense of safety which will allow you to dive into your problems and deal with them head-on.
- You’ll get the concentrated time you need to make rapid progress.
Here’s what we can accomplish on your intensive marriage counseling retreat.
Although we can’t solve everything in one intensive, what we likely can do is:
- Quickly turn your relationship around, so it won’t go over the edge.
- Get you through your conflict or crisis, so you can start to heal.
- Get you well down the road to recovery, so you’ll leave feeling a lot better.
- Send you home with a specific plan, so you’ll continue to make progress.
The truth is, you can do more for your relationship in one retreat than you can in months of weekly sessions.
It’s likely that on your marriage retreat in Colorado, you’ll make substantial progress in breaking free from the destructive patterns of relating that have contributed to your conflict or crisis occurring. You can go deeper faster and go much farther than you could in the same number of sessions spread out weekly over months.
In other words, you can get a lot more done in a lot less time with intensive marriage counseling
What can you gain from your private marriage counseling retreat?
- Lost love restored.
- Improved communication.
- More positive patterns of relating.
- Renewed trust and commitment.
- Positive momentum that will carry on long after your workshop is over.
- An increased likelihood that your relationship will succeed over the long haul.
Very likely, you’ll leave your marriage workshop with your walls down, feeling softer and closer to each other than you have in a long time. You may find that you’re more fulfilled in your relationship than you ever could have imagined.
Here’s how your private marriage intensive will work.
In your complimentary phone consultation, I’ll help you determine if my marriage retreat in Colorado is a good fit for you. If it is,then we’ll decide together what will best meet your needs, a three-day retreat (15 hours) or a four-day retreat (20 hours).
On your intensive we’ll work together each day in a highly focused way for four to six hours, taking rest breaks as needed and a 90-minute lunch break on the longer days.
No two of my intensive marriage counseling retreats look exactly alike. That’s because every couple is different and I tailor what I do to best meet each couple’s needs. However, in a typical marriage workshop retreat, here’s what each day is about:
Schedule
Day 1: Calming your crisis, making sense of it, and helping you learn how to communicate with each other in new ways.
Day 2: Freeing you from your negative interaction patterns, deepening your emotional connection, and helping you identify and better meet each other’s needs.
Day 3: Healing your relationship wounds, consolidating your gains, and equipping you with relationship-building concepts and tools that will help keep you close for a lifetime.
Day 4: Optional: An extra day if you want want more time.
At the end of your marriage counseling intensive, I’ll help you formulate a specific plan for maintaining your gains and continuing your healing and growth. Your plan likely will include a workbook I will give you and follow-up couple therapy with a well-trained therapist who I will help you find. An alternative to seeing a local therapist would be for you to return here for another intensive.
