It’s been my entire focus for almost all of my 40-year career, because I’m passionate about helping couples.
Early in my career I decided that distressed couples deserve to have a therapist who devotes his entire practice to marriage counseling, rather than just dabbling in it in addition to doing other therapies.
I have 40 years of experience helping thousands of couples.
I’ve helped them repair their broken relationships, heal their pain, and get their loving feelings back. Chances are excellent that I can do the same for you.
I’ve been doing marriage counseling retreats since 1980.
It’s hard to find another therapist who has done more private intensives for couples than I’ve done.
I specialize in treating highly distressed couples, including those struggling with extramarital affairs.

I’ve facilitated marriage rescue workshops nationwide and have established a national reputation.
In addition to my work in Colorado, I have crisscrossed the country leading marriage rescue workshops for couples on the edge of divorce. Through these workshops and my private marriage counseling retreats here in Colorado, I’ve become nationally known as a relationship expert.
I have a Ph.D. and I’ve completed six years of graduate study, triple that done by most marriage counselors.
Most counselors who lead marriage counseling retreats have only a two-year master’s degree, the minimal educational requirement for being a licensed therapist.
The graduate study I have completed includes: a two-year master’s degree in psychology, a three-year doctoral degree in psychology, and a year of additional graduate study in marriage and family therapy.
I’m one of the few therapists in the nation who is licensed as both a marriage and family therapist and a clinical psychologist.
As a result, I’m especially well-qualified to help you overcome both the couple problems and the individual problems that are contributing to the distress in your relationship.
I’m fully trained and certified in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, or EFT, which has been scientifically proven to be effective.
EFT brings recovery to nearly 75% of distressed couples and significant improvement to another 15%. I was the first therapist in our seven-state Rocky Mountain Region to become fully trained and certified in EFT, so I’ve done more EFT with couples than any other therapist in our part of the nation. My certification in EFT was granted by the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (ICEEFT) in Ottawa, Canada.
I’m a member of both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
Through these two prestigious professional organizations I keep abreast of advances in my field and I subscribe to two stringent codes of ethics.
